Agriturismo in Umbria

Routes

Strada del Sagrantino

Umbria is the land of villages: large or small, they all tell the history of this little region. It is sufficient to go just a short distance away from Perugia, to Montefalco, Bevagna, Gualdo Cattaneo, Castel Ritaldi, or Giano dell’Umbria to discover another corner of this romantic region. This is the “Strada del Sagrantino” itinerary, conceived and marked out with the kilometers of roads necessary – leaving the massive towers of Bettona and Torgiano – to reach Montefalco, the seat of the “Strada del Vino” (Wine Route) and the Centro Nazionale dei Vini Passiti (National Center for Raisin Wines). An itinerary through the region so loved by St. Francis, where nature encounters the slow pace of country life. It is the green heart of Italy, crossed by a network of paths and trails through lush vegetation that wraps around, as if to protect them, small characteristic hamlets and villages full of local history, archaeological remains and medieval castles. The country trails are used very little and are ideal for excursions on foot, horseback, or mountain bike.
